Quick answer: there are many smart locks, but they are not all equally reliable. At S1 Cerrajeros we fit the Tedee PRO because, in our experience, it is the most robust and reliable on the market. Nuki is cheaper, but in our experience it gives more problems —we have had to go out and open several that failed—. For holiday rentals, what matters is code access for each guest. Most fit over your existing cylinder, with no building work.
It is a device that motorises your lock to open and close via phone (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi), code, fingerprint or card. Most are retrofit: they mount on the inside over the cylinder you already have, so your door looks the same from outside and you can still use the key. It is the most convenient option and the easiest to install.
